The Special Investigating Team (SIT) today did not file a challan against The Indian Express Principal Correspondent Gautam Dheer in the Nayagaon rape case even as it filed challans against 23 accused in the Sessions Court here.
Those against whom challans were filed are inspector Jagjit Singh, Amarpreet Singh, Kesar Singh, Avtar Singh, Gurbhag Singh, Kanwar Inder Singh, Ramgir, Sham Lal, Gurbhag Singh, Ram Kesar, Mohinder Singh, Shakti Chand, Gurbachan Singh, Satnam Singh, Surinder Mohan, Satpal Singh, Rajwinder Singh, Labh Singh, Gurdhian Singh, Ramesh Handa, Jyoti Sharma, Ram Singh and Babu Ram. One of the accused, Sajjan Singh, had died during the course of investigation while another is yet to be identified.
The challans were produced by SIT member and Fatehgarh SP Sahib Pritpal Singh Virk.
