MUMBAI, NOV 18: The newly appointed State unit president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Babanrao Pachpute reiterated the party’s stand on the foreign origin issue.
Pachpute told reporters on Thursday that the party would stick to its stand on the issue even when it will be raised in the floor of the legislature by the Shiv Sena-BJP who had mooted the proposal.
He further informed that strict action would be taken against all party workers who worked against the party in the elections. Pachpute said that the NCP will hold conventions in all districts and he would personally visit all districts before January 1. The party’s performance in the polls was reviewed during the convention held in Pune last week.
Pachpute said that the party would appoint its nominees in places where guardian ministers were yet to be appointed by the government. The nominee would visit and devote time to the concerned district at least once a month, he added. He said the party also decided to distribute utensils, cloth items and money to the cyclone affected victims of Orissa. On the Srikrishna Commission issue, he said that it is up to the State Government to decide the course of action and refused to comment further.
