A meeting of NDA chief ministers and party presidents on Saturday at the residence of L K Advani here charged the Centre with discrimination against NDA states and resolved to hold rallies against price rise to garner support ahead of Lok Sabha polls.
Those who attended the meeting included Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik (BJD), Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal (Akali Dal), NDA convenor George Fernandes, JD(U) president Sharad Yadav and Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray. Nitish Kumar and Vasundhara Raje didn’t attend the meeting.
Speaking for the NDA, Sushma Swaraj listed several points to build a case of discrimination by the UPA Government against the nine states ruled by NDA partners. They included sanction of funds for providing relief during natural calamities, allotment of PDS quota, power cuts, construction of railway tracks and development of AIIMS.
