CALCUTTA, NOV 10: The All India Forward Bloc today accused the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre of having “no political will to unravel mystery surrounding Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s disappearance”.

Attacking the NDA Government on the issue for the first time, the AIFB charged the BJP with “hoodwinking the people by instituting a third inquiry commission to probe the mystery.”

Party’s general secretary, D. Biswas said the British Government “had recently declassified about 750 files and the Government of India made no attempt to take the opportunity”. “This exposed the BJP’s real intentions about the Commission,” Biswas told reporters today.

He said his party had written to the Russian President Vladimir Putin and expected to get a reply. But the NDA Government was not making any attempt to talk to the Russian government to get hold of KGB archive material on Netaji.

Biswas said: “We will take the issue of Centre’s non-cooperation with the Mukherjee Commission set up on May 14, 1999 to the people.”

The Prime Minister’s Office, External Affairs Ministry, the Union Home Ministry and Defence Ministry are posing hurdles for the Commission by not handing over the files to the Commission.
