The Centre is most likely to extend the ceasefire with National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), the Bodo rebel outfit which has been accused of causing the serial blasts of October 30 in Guwahati and three other Assam towns. The ceasefire had expired on December 31. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said a decision to this effect would be taken by his ministry in a day or two. A group of NDFB leaders is currently holding talks with union home ministry officials in Delhi on suspension of operations.
