Before Sunday’s Rapid games, Parimarjan Negi had not won been able to overturn Kateryna Lahno even once.
And after she won the first game on Sunday, it appeared as if there was no way back for Negi in the 18-game Amity Grandmasters Challenge.
But at the end of the day, it was Parimarjan who was smiling. He fought for his first win in the second game, and won the third without much difficulty. Still it’s a big ask for him to win the series as Kateryna needs just two points to claim the series with 7.5-4.5 lead .
Monday, the final day of the series, will offer six blitz games between the two young Grandmasters.
