Visiting Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Singh Deuba met with industry chambers CII and FICCI on Friday, and sought increased private investments by Indians into Nepal. Deuba said Nepal was committed to ensuring that foreign investors remained safe and resolving its conflict with Maoists through dialogue. ‘‘Some of you may have questions related to the prevailing security situation in Nepal… Though some unfortunate incidents have happened in recent times, His Majesty’s government is fully committed to providing security and protection to foreign investors and their investments,’’ he said.
He said agro-based products, food processing, tourism and manufacturing of light engineering were some of the sectors in which Indian investments could prove mutually beneficial.
