CHANDIGARH, July 16: Balbir Singh, an IAS officer of the 1971 batch of the AGMUT cadre, has joined as chairman of Chandigarh Housing Board.

He is the first regular appointee since the former CHB chairperson, Meenakshi Dutta Ghosh was transferred to Delhi. Singh was earlier posted in Delhi. Meanwhile, a Punjab Civil Services officer T.S. Dhariwal today joined as secretary to the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh in place of Dr Amarpal Singh, who has been posted as UT Transport director-cum-divisional manager, Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU).

Dr Amarpal Singh replaces Abhay Singh Yadav, who has been posted as secretary to Chandigarh Housing Board.
