PANAJI, May 24: To meet the increased traffic after the Goa section of the Konkan Railway becomes operational later this year, a road over-bridge, constructed at Margao, south Goa, would be thrown open on May 30, Goa statehood day.
The half a km long over-bridge, built at a cost of Rs 12.90 crore, would facilitate smooth movement of vehicular traffic, according to an official release here.
Rail movement was also expected to resume this year on the Londa-Mormugao section of the South Central Railway after the gauge conversion work was completed.
The government had assigned the planning and construction of the over-bridge to the Konkan Railway Corporation on a cost sharing basis.
