New police academy to be shifted to South Chennai

CHENNAI, July 9: Owing to repeated objections from Metrowater to the location of the proposed police academy in Veerapuram which is within the catchment area of the Red Hills reservoir, the venue is likely to be shifted to an alternate site in south Chennai. However, other details including deisgns and facilities of the academy, proposed by the AIADMK government as a training centre for elite personnel of the State police force, remain unchanged.
