
CHANDIGARH, Feb 15: The Foundation Day of the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) was celebrated here today.
Delivering the Foundation Day lecture on Striving to Attain Professional Excellence’, PGIMER director Dr. B. K. Sharma identified some basic traits required to achieve professional excellence. “Our ancestors were far ahead of their times in medical sciences, but somewhere along the way we were left behind by the Western world due to its steadfastness,” said chief guest Prof. Sharma.
"The academic programmes of NIPER are designed to play a meaningful role in providing training in pharmaceutical sciences and is aimed to contribute toward crucial human resources development of professionals for this specialised area,” said Dr. C. L. Kaul, while presenting the progress report of the institute.
The function was presided over by Prof. Harkrishan Singh, an educationist, who also distributed prizes among the students and the staff for the sports activities conducted during the year.
