Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday shot back at rival Lalu Prasad Yadav and said in the next Lok Sabha polls the RJD would score a duck in the state. Kumar was reacting to Lalu’s statement that his Government was shaking and would collapse soon.

“He should worry about his own fate. He has already been ousted from Bihar and in the next Lok Sabha polls he will be thrown out of the Centre. He will score a duck. The RJD will not be able to win a single seat in the state,” Kumar said in the Assembly.

Lalu had predicted the fall of the Nitish Government while addressing party men at an RJD convention at Ragjir on Saturday. His statement had come a day after Kumar had threatened to step down under fire from his own MLAs over his style of functioning. Trying to cash in, Lalu had declared that the state Government was shaking and exhorted his party men to “give it a push so that it falls”. The RJD chief had said though he would not try to topple the Government, he would extend support to disgruntled MLAs.

Kumar said Lalu was talking “nonsense” out of sheer desperation as his own house was in complete disarray. “No party worker was allowed to speak at the convention. There was complete chaos,” he pointed out and advised Lalu to set his house in order first and then think of dismantling his Government.
