KHARAR, April 27: No breakthrough has been made in the attack by robbers on the family of Purshotam Singh in Desumajra village on Kharar-Chandigarh highway, about 4 km from here, on Saturday night.

Six members of the family were injured, three of them seriously. The seriously injured had been shifted to the PGI, Chandigarh. While the assailants remained untraced, the police is working out on different theories to solve the case.

Kharar Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ashwani Kapoor, when contacted, said that the police have registered a case under Sections 457/458/148/149 of the IPC against the assailants on the complaint of Sukhminder Singh, son of Purshotam Singh. While the investigations are still on, some persons had been rounded up for questioning, he added.

The condition of Purshotam Singh’s wife and son is said to be improving. Kuldeep Kaur, Purshotam Singh’s daughter, was discharged today after treatment.
