Chennai city police said they would not unnecessarily ‘poke into human relationships’ during the Valentine’s Day on Thursday but at the same time would ensure law and order.

“There won’t be any unnecessary poking into human relationships…normal relationships would not be disturbed,” Chennai Police Commissioner G Nanchil Kumaran said while replying to queries whether any special measures would be taken for the Valentine’s day in the city.

“We would be only enforcing law and order and those violating this alone would be liable for action,” he said.

Kumaran also said police were not expecting any problems from right-wing groups who were opposed to Valentines’ Day celebrations.
