VADODARA, Jan 28: Vice-Chancellor of M S University Anil Kane on Wednesday withdrew the decision of implementing the new question paper format for examinations as recommended by the University Grants Commission (UGC) following pressure from student leaders who were irked that they had not been taken into confidence.Explaining the reason for making amends in the question paper style, Kane said that since earlier the students had 100 per cent option, they had the tendency to avoid studying the entire syllabus. ``The question paper had two sections with six questions in each and the student had to answer only three of them,'' explained Kane.With the new guidelines the students would have to study quite a lot of the syllabus. ``The new recommendations envisage the question paper to have two sections, as earlier, and each section would have three questions,'' said Kane. He added that the three questions would have internal options and the students would have to choose from that.Explaining why the university was unable to introduce it from this year, Kane said, ``The notifications were not issued on time hence the students didn't have enough time to prepare for it.'' He added that beginning next academic year the authorities would issue it with their prospectus and thus prepare the students.
