NEW DELHI, Jan 27: Three days after The Indian Express principal correspondent Shivani was found murdered in her Patparganj residence, the Delhi Police say they have several clues but no real leads.Experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) are examining the blood stains on the frying pan which was found in Shivani's house. The broken handle of the pan was found near her body in the bedroom, while the pan itself was found next to the kitchen. The police suspect that Shivani could have used the pan in self-defence and even managed to land a few blows on her assailant(s) before he or they snatched it from her.A senior police official says the CFSL report will establish whether the blood stains on the pan were Shivani's or that of her assailant(s).Finger prints have been lifted from the two glasses, in which Shivani probably served water to her visitor(s). Experts have also lifted fingerprints from the tea cups in the kitchen, cupboard in the bedroom and broken handle of thefrying pan. No fingerprints, however, have been found on the two kitchen knives with which Shivani was stabbed.``The results from the fingerprint analyses will be available in a couple of days. This and the CFSL reports will probably clear some questions,'' the official said. The police have already started looking up MTNL records to ascertain the origin or destination of telephone calls made to and from Shivani's house. The police have also sought the help of telecom authorities in UP to check up the calls made to and from Shivani's parents' house in Ghaziabad, where she had been living for almost three months, till recently after her son was born.Meanwhile, the Indian Journalists' Union (IJU) today expressed shock at the brutal murder of Shivani, and demanded that the government act fast to identify her killers. And journalists affiliated with the Press Club of India and based in Delhi said they will take out a protest march.
