Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has no regrets about rejecting an offer from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to join his council of ministers.
Sources close to him said, Rahul Gandhi, a Congress general secretary incharge of youth wing of the party, said he would be showing disrespect to the people he represents if he did not do the job assigned to him.
The Amethi MP said he did not want to take two-three jobs and not do justice to any one of it, they claimed.
The Gandhi scion is understood to have been offered the post of a Minister of State in the recent reshuffle-cum expansion of the union council of ministers.
He is believed to have said that ‘one man, one post’ was not a problem with him as his priority was to rejuvenate the Youth Congress.
He said he does not like the heroes because the system does not work when they are around.
