CLAVERIA, Feb 4: Rescue teams today reached debris from a crashed Philippines airliner carrying 104 passangers and crew that slammed into a mountainside two days ago, and reported no immediate sign of survivors.
Colonel Jacinto Ligot said the military team had found business cards and a curtain from Cebu Pacific Air DC-9, which crashed on Mount Sumagaya on Monday.
But Ligot said no bodies or survivors had been sighted as search teams converged on the crash site.
He said the first team to arrive had requested helicopter assistance, but fog and cloud precluded air support. “My instructions to the team are first look for survivors,” Ligot said, adding, “We are still hoping”.
