For Delhi, victory has become more or less routine. On Saturday, they beat Himachal by 8-wickets to register their third consecutive win in the Ranji Zonals at the Ferozeshah Kotla. And this time it was right arm pacer Parwinder Awana who did the damage. In a batting friendly track where bowlers hardly get any help the 21-year-old ended with a figure of 10-0-30-4. Though Himachal managed to score 160 thanks to unbeaten 84 by middle order batsmen Mukesh Sharma after Himachal was put into bat first by Delhi after winning the toss. Apart from Sharma rest of the Himachal batting was a disaster as most of them got out cheaply.

Awana stuck in his first over of the day. An in swinging delivery and Himachal opener Hemant Dogra while trying to leave was stunned to find his off stump shattered. He then sent back M S Bisla, Ajay Mannu and Rishi Dhawan to reduce Himachal to 7/40. And then came the 33-run partnership between Mukesh Sharma and Sarandeep Singh to take the total to 160. Amit Bhandari chipped in with two while N S Negi and Suhail Sharma got one wicket each.

Delhi like their early encounters had no problems in chasing the target.

Brief scores: Himachal 160/9 (M Sharma 84 n.o., S Sharma 22; P Awana 4/30, A Bhandari 2/24) lost to Delhi 161/2 (S Dhawan 70, M Tehlan 45, M Manhas 31)
