
Novartis India Ltd has reported a 16.87 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 26.45 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2003, compared to Rs 31.82 crore in same period previous fiscal. Total income in the period under review has also decreased to Rs 146.33 crore from Rs 153.67 crore in Q2 of last year, the company informed the stock exchange, Mumbai, on Thursday.
GE Shipping Q2 net up 41.2 %
MUMBAI: Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd has posted 41.2 per cent rise in its net profit of Rs 80.12 crore for the second quarter ended September 2003 as against Rs 56.73 crore in the same period last year. The total income for the reporting quarter rose to Rs 293.77 crore as against Rs 261.55 crore in July-September 2002, the company said in a release here. The net profit and total income for the six months period ended September 2003 stood at Rs 176.35 crore (Rs 86.44 crore in H1 of 2002-03) and Rs 597.87 crore (Rs 492.88 crore) respectively, it said.
HPCL net dips 2.75%
MUMBAI: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd on Thursday reported a 2.7 per cent dip in its net profit at Rs 443.84 crore for the quarter ended September, 30, 2003, as compared to Rs 456 crore posted in the corresponding period of previous fiscal. However, the net sales during the reporting quarter rose to Rs 13,228.16 crore as against Rs 12,196.61 crore posted in the earlier fiscal, a release stated. The net profit for the first half rose by 4.99 per cent at Rs 601.18 crore (Rs 572.62 crore) while the net sales were up to Rs 26,566.84 crore (24,110.39).
Gillette India net up 109.8%
NEW DELHI: Gillette India on Thursday reported a robust 109.8 per cent rise in net profits for the third quarter this year over the same period last year. Net profits reached Rs 17 crore during July-September 2003 against Rs 8.10 crore during the year ago period, its MD Zubair Ahmed said in a statement. Profits for the January-September period grew by 349 per cent to Rs 43.9 crore over Rs 9.7 crore during the same period last year.
Aptech’s net profit up 67%
NEW DELHI: IT education company Aptech has posted a 67 per cent rise in its profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 3.90 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2003, compared to the same period a year ago. The company’s total revenue grew by 5 per cent to Rs 43.32 crore during the quarter, a company release stated here on Thursday.
