Citing health reasons, veteran Congress leader K. Karunakaran on Friday postponed his meeting with Governor Sikander Bakht as part of his gameplan to unseat Chief Minister A.K. Antony. Despite speculations about Karunakaran having sought an appointment with the governor to submit a list of MLAs to form an alternative government at 11.30 a.m. today, the meeting never materialised. ‘‘Doctors advised him to take complete rest,’’ spokesman V. Balram said. Speaker Vakkom Purushothaman expressed confidence that the Congress MLAs would not take any step to split the party.
