This is the closest Dilip Singh Judeo has come to alluding to money ever since The Sunday Express exposed the tape which cost him his job today. And his reference was not only bizarre but delusional as well.

Money was needed to fight the campaign of conversion being undertaken by ‘‘international forces,’’ he said and claimed even Mahatma Gandhi received money ‘‘from Birla’’ during the freedom struggle.

Speaking to NDTV 24 x 7, Judeo, the RSS posterboy for conversion in tribal Chhattisgarh, said: ‘‘You need an army to stop conversions and you need provisions for that army. There might be obstacles and the time is limited. Suppose someone gives these provisions, this is misunderstood. We have to keep all these possibilities in mind. Who is going to foot the bill?’’

Citing the freedom movement, he said: ‘‘When Chandrashekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh were fighting, then Birla used to go to Mahatma Gandhi…And from where he used to bring…’’ He did not elaborate.— with PTI
