On road next month: Desi NASCAR

With increasing interest in motorsport events among the country’s youth, India will have its own version of NASCAR series in the form of ‘Goodyear Top 1 (T1) Racing championship’, having even women racers scorching roads.

Touted as the richest motorsport event in the country beginning December 25, T1 will have 60 cars divided among 20 teams (all Indian teams and players) and competed over 20 laps in two-tier structure for $ 100,000.

The cars will flat out on a 2.7 km street circuit around the India Expo Centre at Greater Noida and will have four legs of races.
