MANDI, MARCH 16: The Mandi Police today claimed to have solved the case involving the alleged rape attempt and murder of a six-year-old minor girl from Jandroo Khurd village of Sarkaghat sub-division in this district on March 2.

The police have arrested one Des Raj, 16, son of Prithi Singh, of the same village, who had confessed to the crime. The police suspect the involvement of two persons in the crime. Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kundu, who is camping at the village, could not be contacted as he was involved in the interrogation.

According to the police, the victim was reportedly kidnapped on March 2 while playing Holi and her body was later found hanging from a tree near the village.
