NEW DELHI, July 21: The fraud and cheating section of the crime branch to announced it has arrested 28-year-old Vinod Pant, one of the active directors of the Hoffland group of companies. The crime branch is investigating cases against Hoffland Finance Company and its sister concerns, which have reportedly duped thousands of investors of crores.

The accused, a chartered accountant and resident of the JNU campus, is allegedly responsible for the diversification and misappropriation of funds collected from investors. Pant has reportedly disclosed that assets have been acquired by the company in Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta from the investors’ funds.

Three other directors of the company – Deen Bandhu Sharma, Kishan Chand Aggarwal, Mohan Lal Sharma, have been arrested earlier. The search for the main accused, Brij Bhushan Sharma, continues.
