
NEW DELHI, December 7: A fine all-round performance by Onkar Singh (2 for 20 and 65 not out) helped Indian Airlines beat Surana Cricket Academy (Jaipur) by eight wickets in a first-round match of All India Davinder Singh memorial cricket tournament at Harbaksh Stadium here today.
Put in to bat, Surana Academy were dismissed for 141 in 41.5 overs. Only Rohit Sharma (35) and Chandresh (30) made any semblance of a fight. Subhash Choudhary (3 for 21) and Onkar Singh were the most successful bowlers.
In reply, Airlines reached the target in only 31 overs, for the loss of two wickets. Onkar Singh made his unbeaten 65 off 84 balls while Karnataka opener J Arunkumar made 23. On Tuesday, Poorvanchal XI (Varanasi) will take on Goswami Ganesh Dutt at Harbaksh Stadium.
