This battalion has been moved to Fatehgarh now.‘‘A magisterial inquiry has been ordered with a timeframe of a fortnight. This is the first such incident involving the PAC,’’ Faizabad Commissioner R.M. Srivastava. An officer of the rank of ADM has been entrusted with the job of conducting survey of the shops which were damaged. With Ramnavmi mela scheduled for tomorrow, the town is flooded with devotees and that has forced the local administration to go for a fresh review of the security within and outside the disputed site. Four companies of the CRPF, 20 of the PAC and nearly 350 civil police personnel are engaged in security of the disputed site. ‘‘An IG-level PAC official may inquire into the causes leading to the violence,’’ said ADG of PAC Haramal Singh. While officials said nearly 15 watch towers in the premises were in good shape, reports in the local media said the high iron structures had rusted.
