NEW DELHI, Aug 3: India’s Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi breezed into the doubles semi-finals of the $2.05 million Du Maurier Open tournament at Montreal, Canada beating wild card entrants Tommy Haas of Germany and Jocelyn Robichaud of Canada 6-3, 6-4′

In the other quarter-finals , qualifiers Alexander Kitinov of Macedonia and Jeff Salzenstien (US) upset top seeds and French Open champions for the past two years Yevgeny Kafelnokov and Daniel Vacek 6-4, 6-2, while Sebastin Lareau of Canada and Alex O’ Brien (US) defeated Sargis Sargsian and Neville Goldwin (South Africa) 3-6, 7-5, 6-4.

Leander and Mahesh entered the quarter-final beating the American pair of Fransisco Montana and Donald Abraham 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(7). Tommy Haas and Jocelyn Robichaud of Canada were lucky to get past second seeds Daniel Nestor of Canada and Mark Knowles of Bahamas who conceded the match after leading 4-3 in the first set.

In the first round, the Indian pair got past Andrew Florent and Joshua Eagle of Australia, again coming back after a tame first set loss, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
