HOBART, NOV 20: Inzamam-Ul-Haq broke through for his first century against Australia as Pakistan amassed a potentially match-winning lead in the second cricket Test at The Bellerive Oval here today. With Inzamam overcoming his century jinx, Pakistan built a massive 327-run lead with two days to play in a bid to level the three-match series. At close, Pakistan were 351 for seven with Inzamam unbowed on 116 and skipper Wasim Akram not out one.The burly right-hander punched the air in relief and delight as he beat home a throw from the deep for his second run to clinch his eighth Test hundred.Australia may have to surpass their highest second innings total of 342 for eight in a home Test scored against India in Perth 21 years ago to win the Hobart Test.Inzamam had scored 97 against the Australians in Peshawar in October last year and hit 88 in the first Brisbane Test earlier this month, but he broke through in his 11th Test against Australia. He reached his century 40 minutes before stumps andsignificantly included in his innings were nine scores of three along with his 12 boundaries.Inzamam was supported by Ijaz Ahmed's 82 and opener Saeed Anwar's 78 as Australia toiled away, leaning heavily on Shane Warne, who proved the workhorse and the wicket-taker with 3-100 off 39 overs.Ijaz was out 15 minutes before tea to a blinding Steve Waugh catch off Glenn McGrath for 82 (159m, 13x4) to end a free-flowing record 136-run partnership at the ground with Inzamam.Warne produced the ball of the day to remove Anwar half-an-hour before lunch. Anwar, who scored a century in the first Brisbane Test and appeared set for his fourth century in seven innings against Australia, was bowled by a booming legbreak that fizzed out of the rough and sent his leg stump cartwheeling. Anwar had a let-off in the second over of the day when he survived video umpire scrutiny of a line-ball stumping appeal off Warne when he was 36.ScoreboardPakistan (1st innings): 222Australia (1st innings):246Pakistan (2nd innings; overnight 61-1): Saeed Anwar b Warne 78, Mohd Wasim c McGrath b Muller 20, Saqlain Mushtaq lbw b Warne 8, Ijaz Ahmed c S Waugh b McGrath 82, Inzamam-ul-Haq batting 116, Yousuf Youhana c Ponting b Fleming 2, Azhar Mahmood lbw b Warne 28, Moin Khan c Gilchrist b Fleming 6, Wasim Akram batting 1; Extras: (lb5, nb4, w1) 10.
