Pakistan has welcomed the decision by the United States to lift the sanctions imposed after General Pervez Musharraf grabbed power overthrowing the elected government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in 1999. ‘‘We welcome this decision and hope this is a precursor for the termination of application of this US law to Pakistan,’’ Foreign Office spokesman Masood Khan told the official media here. — (PTI)
