JAMMU, July 15: The newly-floated Kashmiri Pandit Political Steering Committee (KPPSC), a conglomerate of 10 Kashmiri Pandit organisations, has invited the State and Central Governments to initiate a dialogue to expedite the return of migrants to the Valley.
Speaking to reporters here last week, the KPPSC office-bearers cautioned the State Government against holding negotiations with individuals or groups of people for return of the displaced community through bureaucratic committees, adding that such efforts were only aimed at “dividing” the community.
They alleged that no serious efforts have been initiated so far to secure the return of migrants though it was the first item on the agenda of the National Conference Government. We still face discrimination from the State Government and neglect from the Central Government, they added.
The KPPSC, they said, has been formed with the aim of evolving a common social and political platform representing the voice of Kashmiri Pandits all over the globe.
Chairman of the committee A N Vaishnavi and its four directors, K L Chowdhary, T N Khosa, C L Gadoo and Ashwani Kumar, said this apex body would continue deliberations with all sections and groups of Kashmiri Pandits from different areas of the Valley and chalk out a minimum acceptable programme.
They charged the State Government with “insincerity of purpose” and alleged that the Government was fooling the migrants.
