NEW DELHI, December 24: The Government has instituted a high level committee to consider anomalies arising from the revised pay scales and allowances consequent to the Fifth Pay Commission award.

The committee members will comprise Defence Secretary Ajit Kumar, Vice Chiefs of Staff of the Army, the Air Force and the Navy, besides the Financial Advisor Defence Services. It would submit a report within 12 weeks. The body will examine the anomalies and distortions by the Service Headquarters especially aspects pertaining to risk related allowances and trade rationalisation for personnel below officer rank.

Besides, the anomalies identified by the Service Headquarters, the Member Secretary of the committee B Bhrama, Director (AG), Ministry of Defence, will place before the committee grievances and anomalies of the affected categories of Service personnel received directly.
