Panic grips forward belt along Indo-Pak border as people mistook routine firing by army troops as Pakistani strike in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources.

After hearing the sounds of firing, panic-struck border hamlets as people thought that Pakistan had started firing along the borderline in the district this morning, they said.

However, BSF troops later informed the villagers that it was not firing from Pakistan side but a routine practice by the Indian Army, they added.
