Asked if The Sunday Express had done the right thing by publishing the report on the Judeo tape, Union Home Minister L K Advani said here today: ‘‘The newspaper got something that was newsworthy and published it. The CBI is also trying to find out the truth, and since the newspaper is the main source, it has been approached. I am making no allegations. It is a queer case and let CBI make its inquiries.’’

He was responding to the query after he had said, in the context of Judeo’s guilt or innocence: ‘‘If a person is innocent it is not a fault. No one has owned responsibility for paying the money. We don’t know who has paid the money. In the case of the Tehelka tapes, Tehelka had taken the responsibility. In this case the paper that has published this has no responsibility (for paying the money).’’
