
PUNE, July 2: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Pravinsinh Pardeshi, on Tuesday, said that various administrative measures will be taken shortly to step up the services of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Transport (PCMT).
Stating that a serious view of the present situation of the PCMT was taken yesterday, Pardeshi said that importance will be given on reducing mechanical breakdown of buses, increasing punctuality and better functioning of the workshops. Speaking to reporters, he said that certain routes which are running in losses will be discontinued.
At a meeting presided by Mayor Hanumanth Bhosale yesterday, Deputy commissioner R B Konde suggested that a fixed deposit amount upto Rs 15 crore be given to PCMT. The annual interest could be used for meeting the financial requirements. Allotment of vacant lands for constructing commercial buildings to PCMT was also suggested.
