Senior Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Shah today said he will challenge the death penalty awarded to three convicts in the Parliament attack case.
‘‘I have come here to challenge the verdict of the special judge on awarding death penalty to S.A.R. Geelani, Shoukat Hussain and Mohammed Afzal,’’ Shah said on his arrival from Srinagar.
Shah said he would be consulting leading criminal lawyers, including former Union law ministers Ram Jethmalani and Shanti Bushan, before filing a petition in Delhi High Court.
