ISLAMABAD, NOV 16: Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League (PML) today directly confronted the military rulers of the country by condemning the October 12 army coup and calling upon democratic parties and forces within Pakistan and the world to exert pressure for restoration of democracy in the country.
The first meeting of the parliamentary party of the PML and its allies held here today passed a resolution condemning the "action of October 12" and also endorsed an earlier decision of the party’s central working committee to challenge the dismissal of the Sharif government before the SC. The PML and its allies also expressed its appreciation of the decision of the Commonwealth summit and other international bodies demanding the immediate release of Sharif and others and forthwith restoration of the constitution and democratic institutions.
