NEW DELHI: All India Seva Dal chairman Suresh Pachori today appointed Anil Raja as the chairman of the Assam Pradesh Congress Seva Dal.
Pachouri also announced dissolution of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Seva Dal and said that all the office bearers of the State unit, including its chairman, will cease to hold office with immediate effect, a Seva Dal release said.

CHANDIGARH: Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, stated that she would not attend the proposed rally to be organised by dissident partymen at Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district on December 7.
Akali Dal plea
CHANDIGARH: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Saturday dismissed a petition seeking deregistration of the Shiromani Akali Dal on the grounds that it was a religious party and believed in the creation of a separate Sikh State.
The petition was made by Shamsher Singh.
