DALTONGANJ: The Jharkhand People’s Party (JPP) today threatened to launch a militant movement if the Centre did not take urgent steps for creation of a separate Jharkhand state. The JPP leader said the ball was now in the Centre’s court as the Bihar House had already adopted a resolution for statehood.

Congress demand

LUCKNOW: The Congress today took strong objection to RSS chief Rajendra Singh’s statement that Varanasi and Mathura continued to be on the Sangh’s agenda, and decided to demand the BJP-led UP Government’s dismissal as it was made in the presence of Chief Minister Kalyan Singh. The RSS chief had made the statement in the presence of Singh during the RSS workers meeting here on Sunday.

UF asked to quit

CHENNAI: United Communist Party of India (UCPI) today demanded that the United Front Government should quit and recommend for mid-term polls. Addressing mediapersons, UCPI chairman, D Pandian, said despite DMK being indicted by Jain, UCPI would not demand the dismissal of the Tamil Nadu Govt.

NEW DELHI: The Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) today reviewed the political situation in the country following Lok Sabha Speaker decision to adjourn the Lower House sine die on Monday. Talking to reporters shortly after the meeting, party president G K Moopanar said, that they discussed the current situation.
