Passenger robbed after being ‘drugged’

CHENNAI, June 18: Ramkumar, a research assistant at IIT, Kharagpur, travelling in the Coromandel Special on his way to Chennai, would have little expected that he would faint after drinking water from his bottle. On coming to, at the Chennai Central, he realised that he had been robbed off his suitcase, and remembered the presence of two presons next to him before he fainted. The refusal by the Chennai Central railway police to register the case as it was out of their jurisdiction only added to his irritation, as he had to file a case with the Andhra Railway Police.
