Lok Janashakti Party chief and former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Thursday ruled out the possibility of his party aligning with the NDA in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. At a press conference, Paswan said the LJP would have electoral seat adjustments with other secular parties, including Congress, to ensure the defeat of BJP-led NDA in the ensuing general election. When asked about the reported statement of NDA convenor and Defence Minister George Fernandes that efforts were on to bring Paswan’s party to the NDA fold, Paswan quipped ‘‘woh jhooth bol rahe hain (they are lying)’’.
He categorically stated that there would be no electoral alliance with BJP or NDA.
