VADODARA, March 25: Dr Ajit Pathak, national vice-president of the Public Relations Society of India and Manager (Corporate Communications), Gujarat Refinery, has been honoured with the Hind Gaurav Award. The award was presented to him by Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, at the All-India Achievers Conference held in New Delhi recently. Minister for Steel and Mines Ramesh Bias presented the citation. The award is presented for service to society through individual excellence. A cartoonist, poet, writer and PR expert, Pathak has been working for cancer awareness campaigns.
Medical camp: Gujarat Refinery in association with Progressive Educational & Cultural Trust, Bajwa, Lions Club of Baroda and Bajwa Gram Panchayat organised a two-day diagnostic and general medical camp at the Primary Health Center in Bajwa recently. While on day one, blood, sugar, haemoglobin tests, MMR analysis, cardiograms, and sputum tests for TB were conducted, on the second day, surgery cases were diagnosed and those suffering from eye and skin ailments treated. Medicines were distributed free to the needy patients. Along with local doctors, doctors and para-medical staff of Gujarat Refinery also rendered their services.
Programme on value system: The Management Services Department, Gujarat Refinery, conducted a programme on Value Systems’ on Tuesday.
The faculty comprising Sumanben and Nandiniben from the Prajapati Brahmakumaris, Ishwarya Vishwavidyalaya, Mt Abu. spoke on ways to control one’s thoughts, feelings and behaviour and adjusting to change. The programme was attended by a large number of officers.
