NAGAR, Sept 26: Riding on a strokefilled century by opener Sandeep Sharma (107), Punjab Cricket Association XI ground Indian Airlines by 67 runs to enter the final of the sixth J P Atray Memorial cricket tournament here at the PCA Stadium today.Sandeep's knock and his 107-run opening-wicket partnership with skipper Vikram Rathore (50) propelled PCA Colts to a massive 276 for 6 in 50 overs. Indian Airlines did start on a promising note but the pressure of a big run chase got to them as they were bowled out for 210 in only 42.5 overs.In the morning, the Indian Airlines bowlers were sent on a leather hunt by the Sandeep-Rathore duo. The two brought up the hundred of the innings in the 13th over, leaving the rival skipper Vijay Dahiya struggling to marshal his resources. Rathore hit a six and six fours in his 41-ball knock while Sandeep had two sixes and eight fours in his 103-ball knock.Though Young Reetinder Sodhi kept pace with the run rate, the PCA Colts innings faltered a little in the middle overs as Airlines spinners Yuvraj Singh and Subhash Chuadhary and seamer R P Singh bowled a tight line. Airlines openers Dahiya and J Arun Kumar too punished the PCA Colts' new-ball attack, adding 72 runs for the first wicket.
