PUNE, December 18: The illegal occupation of the outhouses at the residence of the cantonment executive officer of the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) has become a major cause for concern in the area.
The board at its meeting on Tuesday ratified the action taken by the CEO for removal of certain portions of dilapidated structures in the outhouses. CEO J Sharma informed the board that his residence B no 5 had been unauthorisedly occupied by four families. Their services were not taken by the CEO. Some of them were employed with the Pune Municipal Corporation, Indian Railways and the Army Ammunition Factory. Although they had been told to vacate the quarters for the last six months, they gave all sorts of excuses.
Meanwhile, the CEO received a number of complaints regarding their alleged illegal activities. Moreover, due to overcrowding the structures also became unsafe. After some of the structures started caving in, the outhouse was removed.
