CHANDIGARH, Sept 22: Holders Punjab Cricket Club and runners-up Bishnoi Cricket Club have been seeded straight into semi-finals of the VIth JP Atray memorial cricket tournament which start at the PCA Stadium in SAS Nagar on September 24. The opening match will be played between Indian Airlines and PCA Colts.

Resvised fixtures: Sept 24: 1 Indian Airlines vs PCA Colts; 2 Sept 25: Godgrej CC vs Puncom XI; 3 Sept 26 (semifinals): Punjab Cc vs Winners of 1; 4 Sept 27 (semi-finals): Bishnoi Cc vs winners of 2; Sept 25 (final): Winners of 3 and 4.

Cricket trials
More than 55 players attended the trials for under-19 conducted by the Chandigarh Cricket Association, afffilaited to Haryana Cricket Association, at Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 19. CCA secretary Surinder Singh said that the list has been shortlisted to 22. The 15-member team will be finalised tomorrow.

GMSSS-37 win
Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 37 beat Govt High School, Sector 40 by seven wickets in the Shivalik Trophy schools cricket tournament here.

After GHS-40 were bowled out for 75, GMSSS-37 romped home losing three wickets.

Scores: GHS-40: 75 (Sandeep 20; Sandeep Mahajan 4-11, Sarv Mittar 3-3) lost to GMSSS-37: 77 for 3 (Amit Tewari 23, Sarv Mittar 20; Sonu 2-20).

Gurdeep hits 117

Gurdeep Rana’s brilliant century (117) helped ICC XI to defeat Nabha XI by 127 runs in the third Hira Singh Memorial cricket tournament being played at Nabha today.
Scores: ICC XI: 219 for 4 (Gurdeep Rana 117, Jagjit 56, Jatinder 44; Pardeep 2-48, Kamal 2-37) beat to Nabha XI: 92 (Pardeep 25, Yashpal 17; Satnam Singh 3-12, Randhir Nain 4-20, Yadvinder 2-31).
