PDP’s Lone is chairman of JK Upper House

People’s Democratic Party leader Ghulam Nabi Lone was elected chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council on Friday.

People’s Democratic Party leader Ghulam Nabi Lone was elected chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council on Friday. The Opposition National Conference, which has six members in the Legislative Council, boycotted the proceedings as they wanted a debate on human rights and other issues. Terming the elections a farce, NC leader Sakeena Yatoo said: “We wanted a discussion on various important issues and the chairman didn’t allow that.”
