CHENNAI, January 19: The TN Government has decided to link the Public Distribution System in the State by computers, in a bid to curb malpractices. In the initial phase, some 1,800 PDS outlets in Chennai will be linked. The online networking will be done using anoptical mark read process with tailor-made software. The system is expected to ease out bogus billing and fake supplies movement.
