MUMBAI, FEB 6: The Pesticides Manufacturers & Formulators Association of India (PMFAI) will hold the 2nd Asia Pacific Crop Protection conference from February 18 to 20.

The three-day international conference is organised every alternate year to provide a platform for interaction of the manufacturers with buyers from all over the world, according to Pradeep P Dave, president of PMFAI.

Adressing a press conference here today, he said that in the $ 33.5 billion global agrochemicals market, generic pesticides held a major share of more than $ 17.5 billion in which India was a very strong player. The country exported pesticides worth Rs 650 crore during 1997-98 and was expected to cross Rs 1,100 crore during 1998-99.
