PicWeek — Dr Shreeram Lagoo and Nilu Phule, who have both become legends of sorts in Marathi theatre, come together for the first time on stage with Premachi Gosht. What makes this pair even more interesting is that this will probably be the last time the two might appear together. Says Mohan Tondwalkar, producer, "Considering their age, the audiences might not see them on the same stage again. Written by Shyam Manohar and directed by Atul Pethe, the story revolves around three childhood friends who haven’t lost touch over the years. When KB (Lagoo) comes back from England, he finds the Indian society a caste-ridden mess. The dialogues revolve around the social and political mess that India has become, but tend to drift a bit too much. Says the director, "The audiences have to make an effort to digest, I won’t give a readymade eatable." The sets, by Shyam Bhutkar, are superbly constructed.
