The Hurriyat Conference’s Executive Council today confirmed that it would be meeting L.K. Advani on March 27, saying it would present a ’road map’ for peace in the Valley to the Deputy Prime Minister.
At the same time, the four Hurriyat executives who met at the Nagin residence of Mirwaiz Umer Farooq in Srinagar decided they would ‘‘honour’’ the invitation of Pakistan High Commissioner Aziz Ahmad Khan to celebrate Pakistan Day on March 23 at New Delhi.

‘‘We have accepted invitations from both and have decided to meet Advani as also Pakistan embassy officials,’’ the Mirwaiz said.
Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Yasin Malik and his deputy, Javeed Mir, have also been invited to the Pakistani function.
Sources said though the Abbas Ansari-led Hurriyat had kept a ‘‘meaningful’’ distance from Pakistan initially, the decision to attend the March 23 celebrations was prompted by the ‘‘good atmosphere between the two nations as also the ongoing cricket diplomacy’’.
